The founding story of Liqui Moly is truly unique. The founder of the future company, Hans Henle, went to the store of the US Army, which worked in post-war Germany. There, his attention was attracted by a special additive in aviation engine oil, which was called Liqui Moly (liquid molybdenum in translation from English). The essence of the work of the mixture based on molybdenum disulfide was to protect the engine in case of complete loss of oil. They created this tool for military needs - when the enemy pierced the oil tank, the pilots had time and the opportunity to hold out until the landing without losing the engine and aircraft. Naturally, in peacetime, this additive was no longer so popular and maybe we would not have known about it if not for the entrepreneurial spirit of Hans Henle

He very quickly assessed the prospects for the use of such an additive, in 1955 he bought the rights to the Liqui Moly brand and a patent for the use of molybdenum disulfide in additives. And in 1957 he founded his own company Liqui Moly GmbH.

The company has been selling four products for about ten years, all based on molybdenum disulfide. It was Kfz-1 engine oil additive, Kfz-2 gear oil additive, Kfz-3 universal grease and Kfz-4 assembly paste.

Then the company began to develop in several directions. On the one hand, the assortment was expanded with products that have nothing to do with lubricants. On the other hand, the company began to actively work for export. By the way, today about half of all production goes outside Germany. And the full range of the company has about 4000 articles, largely creating Liqui Moly the credibility of the supplier "everything from one source". And most of these products were created in their own laboratory. Many of them are together with the engineers of the automakers. By the way, from 2011 to 2017, Liqui Moly received the Best Brand in the Lubricants Category award (according to the German magazines Auto Bild, Auto Zeitung, Auto Motor und Sport and Motor Klassik). Liqui Moly has singled out oils developed to meet the requirements of automakers into a separate category of specialized oils. There are two lines of such products - Top Tec and Special Tec. Tor Tes are synthetic-based low ash oils that correspond to the ACEA C1-C4 classification and are created for vehicles with complex exhaust gas aftertreatment systems and particulate filters. The antiwear additive package contains molybdenum. Tor Tes series oils are products for VAG Group, MB, GM (Opel), BMW, Fiat, Mazda, Honda, Ford, Toyota, PSA, Volvo cars. Liqui Moly universal oils

The manufacturer identifies three lines of universal oils that can be used in any cars, new and used. The Optimal line is a mid-price range of oils. It contains four of the most popular products with the most common viscosities: 5W-30, 5W-40, 10W-40. The limited range and very high demand for these oils allows Liqui Moly to maintain an affordable price, while not losing quality. In addition, the Optimal line products are adapted to work in difficult weather conditions and with not always high fuel quality in countries such as Ukraine.

The Molygen NG line is the development of the Liqui Moly research laboratory in response to increasing demands on engines and tightening environmental standards. At the same time, it is necessary to use low-ash additives packages, making the engine more "environmentally friendly", and to introduce oils with a lower viscosity, while providing engine protection. To fulfill all these tasks, the manufacturer's engineers have developed a special molecular friction control formula (MFC-Molecular Friction Control) based on a mixture of molybdenum and tungsten. Tests on a test bench and on real cars have shown that the use of Molygen NG oils can actually reduce engine wear by 20-30%. In this case, the effect lasts for 50,000 kilometers. In simple words, the additive at the molecular level is "rubbed" into the rubbing surfaces and in fact "heals" microdamages. Moreover, the structure of the parts is strengthened by a mixed layer of molybdenum and tungsten crystals.

All Molygen NG oils provide a number of benefits:
